SUBJECT:            APPOINTMENT

It is my pleasure to announce that Governor Timothy M. Kaine has appointed Billy Shelton to the position of Executive Director of the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, effective today.

Billy brings thirty-eight (38) years of firefighting experience at the professional and volunteer level to this position. He is a proven leader and highly respected by his peers in the fire service throughout the Commonwealth.

Please join me in congratulating Executive Director Shelton!

In closing, on behalf of Governor Kaine, thanks very much to all of you for your professionalism, dedication and all that you do each and every day for our fire and rescue personnel and the citizens of Virginia. You do make a difference.
