Nomination
Rules
Ø Nominations will be sent to the VPFF no later than August 1st of each year.
Ø Nominations after August 1st will not be accepted.
Ø Please attach letter explaining why you wish to nominate legislator. (Required)
Ø A list of the nominees will be sent to each Local by September 1st of each year.
Ø Balloting will be held from September 1st to October 15th of each year.
Ø Each Local is entitled to one vote
Ø Forms and votes may be submitted electronically (VPFF website)
Ø In the event of a tie, the Executive Board will break the tie
Guidelines
v
This award is to recognize the legislator who in the last General
Assembly made exemplary efforts on behalf of our members.
v
The nominee should have lobbied for one or more of our issue(s)
aggressively. (Sponsoring a bill
without actively pursuing its passage would not qualify.)
v
The nominee can also be recognized for having worked to defeat or
amend legislation that would have adversely affected our membership.
v The winner will be notified by the President of the VPFF and invited to attend the VPFF Legislative Conference where the award will be presented.
